논문에서는 척수 손상이 발견 된 환자에게 스테로이드를 사용하는게 좋을지? 안좋을지?에 대해 메타분석을 했는데요
2008년 부터 2020년 사이에 발간된 척수 손상에 대한 치료 가이드라인 총 8개를 분석한 결과
척수 손상에 대하여 스테로이드제 중 하나인 메틸프레드니솔론의 사용을 권장한 한 가이드라인은 3개,
사용하지 말라고 한 가이드라인 3개,
양쪽 다 괜찮다고 한 가이드라인 2개
즉 찬:반:기권이 3:3:2로 나뉘었다고 하며
근거 중심으로 작성된 가이드라인은 주로 사용하지 말자고 했다고 하며
컨센서스 중심으로 작성된 가이드라인은 사용을 찬성하는 쪽으로 작성이 되었다고 하네요
결론은 척수손상에 대해서 스테로이드를 사용할지 말지에 대한 가이드라인이 아직은 일치된게 없다라는 결론인 것 같습니다
Should steroids be used when spinal cord injury is detected? Or is it better not to use them?
This episode is about a question that spine doctors may be interested in. It's about the content of a paper published in the March 2023 issue of The Spine Journal.
The paper analyzed eight treatment guidelines for spinal cord injury published between 2008 and 2020, and conducted a meta-analysis of whether it is better to use steroids for patients with spinal cord injury or not.
According to the analysis, one guideline recommended the use of methylprednisolone, one of the steroid drugs, for spinal cord injury, while three guidelines recommended not to use it, and two guidelines considered both options to be acceptable. Therefore, the opinions were divided into for, against, and abstain in a ratio of 3:3:2.
The guideline based on evidence mostly recommended not to use steroids, while the consensus-based guideline was written in favor of their use.
In conclusion, it seems that there is no consensus on whether to use steroids for spinal cord injury in the current treatment guidelines.
