Maxmarvil tab(Alendronic acid) Usage Guide: Benefits and Side Effects

Maxmarvil tab, Alendronic acid, also known as alendronate, is a bisphosphonate medication primarily used to treat and prevent osteoporosis and other bone-related conditions. It helps strengthen bones and reduce the risk of fractures, especially in postmenopausal women and individuals with other risk factors.

Mechanism of Action
Alendronic acid works by inhibiting osteoclast-mediated bone resorption. Osteoclasts are cells responsible for breaking down bone tissue. By suppressing their activity, alendronate slows down bone loss and increases bone mineral density. This action strengthens bones and helps prevent fractures.

Common Uses
Osteoporosis in Postmenopausal Women: Reduces the risk of vertebral and hip fractures.
Osteoporosis in Men: Helps increase bone mass in men with osteoporosis.
Glucocorticoid-Induced Osteoporosis: Prevents and treats bone loss caused by long-term use of corticosteroid medications.
Paget’s Disease of Bone: Treats this condition by normalizing bone turnover rates.

Dosage Instructions
Alendronic acid is typically taken orally, either daily or weekly:

Daily Dose: 5 mg or 10 mg once daily.
Weekly Dose: 35 mg or 70 mg once weekly.
Instructions for Optimal Absorption:

Take the tablet with a full glass of water (at least 200 ml) upon waking up in the morning.
Remain upright (sitting or standing) for at least 30 minutes after taking it.
Avoid food, drinks, and other medications for at least 30 minutes after ingestion.
